all you need is love. the song says it and its true.
everyone needs to have someone to hold on to.
when you think no one gives a damn
the world is a cold and lonely hell
and when there is no hope
that things will change
it just might ring a bell
the lonely one who cries herself to sleep tonight
may not be there to talk to tomorrow
dont let your loved ones think no one cares
or you may not be able to handle the sorrow
depression is a killer
that whispers in your ear
life is hopeless
whats the use?
no one gives a damn about you here
people laugh at you behind your back
your worthless any way

no one will miss you
just go ahead and hang yourself today
if you know someone who has lost hope
or is depressed tonight
make sure you tell them right away
they matter and they belong in your life.
if you are depressed and suicidal
dont suffer in silence
the voice in your head is not your friend.

Dearest mother, You have given me 2 things. One is roots and the other wings. Roots to keep me grounded thru the toughest times, and wings to help me soar above my troubles into the sky.

dont give up dreaming

Dont look to the leaders for the answers;

look to the one who controls your destiny.
Don’t give up dreaming,

or your dreams cannot come true.
Don’t forget where you came from

or those who helped you get to where you are.
Don’t give up hope

when you are feeling blue.
Remember where ever you go

and whatever you do,

you always have a chance 
As long as you are true
True to yourself
Be your own best friend
And look out for yourself
And you can make it
You only have you in the end.

As poetry month is quickly drawing to a close, i will try to write a new poem here today without apology or plan…. wish me luck…

a verse that rhymes

not always but

some of the time

a paragraph

maybe two or three

written by me

maybe more if it please

a poetic license

un bought but earned

that turns a story

into a lesson learned

i make no apology

for this rhyme

it was not planned

IT DOES NOT REQUIRE A COLLEGE DEGREE OR A NEW CAR
TRUE LOVE CANNOT BE BOUGHT OR RENTED OR SOLD
IT DOES NOT FADE AWAY OR ALTER INTO SOMETHING LESS
IT IS NOT DIAMONDS OR JEWELS OR A FANCY CAR
IT DOES NOT CLING TO YOU IF YOU OWN A MILLION DOLLAR BALL TEAM
OR PLAY FOR ONE
IT DOES NOT REQUIRE A LICENSE OR TAX SHELTER
IT DOES NOT LEAVE YOU WHEN YOU LOSE IT ALL
TRUE LOVE IS UNCONDITONAL AND FREE
IT IS THE UNCONDITIONAL LOVE THAT ONLY COMES FROM PARENTHOOD.

Mirror, mirror

When I look in the mirror, I see

Someone looking back at me.

From a mirror realm through the looking glass,

I see this tired old man with a sad and lonely past.

These were not the things I had hoped to see when I went to look in the mirror at me.

You say you want to #change the #world.

Are you willing to do whatever it takes

To #free every boy and girl?

#100,000 voices are crying out.

Can you hear them call?

Injustice has become the norm

At the damnation of us all.

You say you want a bold #new world

Where everyone is free.

You say you will do anything

To be all you can be.

To bring about this new age

Some people have to change.

Hypocrisy must go away

And never come back again.
